Why Use an Infuser?

Loose-leaf tea needs room to move as it brews.

The basket shape gives the leaves more space than a small tea ball, while keeping them contained inside the pot. When the tea has reached the strength you like, simply remove the infuser.

This helps prevent over-brewing and makes the pot easier to serve.

How to Use

Place the infuser inside your teapot.

Add the recommended amount of loose-leaf tea, then pour in hot water.

Allow the tea to brew for the suggested time. For most Merry Wolf black teas, give it around three minutes.

Lift the infuser out and place it on a small dish.

Take the pot to the table and pour directly into each cup.

Check the Fit

Before ordering, measure the opening of your teapot to make sure the basket will sit securely inside without falling through. The rim of the infuser should rest comfortably on the edge or inner ledge of the pot.

Care

Empty the leaves after brewing and rinse the infuser under warm water.

For a more thorough clean, wash in warm soapy water and rinse well. Dry completely before returning it to the cupboard.

Tea can stain over time. A gentle soak in bicarbonate of soda and warm water will help remove any build-up.
